Switching to a digital intraoral scanner has multiple advantages over traditional impressions. There is no more need to deal with messy impression material. The image is easily preserved on a hard-drive and won’t degrade, warp or tear over time. A re-scan can be done immediately with no waste of materials. But the biggest bonus is the patient will prefer the time saved and the minimal labor required to complete a scan.
